The suspenseful plot turned dark, as is often the case, it was well written, the dots connecting perfectly. There were also some funny moments and I loved the humor and all the funny comments and situations that come up when dealing with this family. I am in awe of Onley James’s ability to write these complex and unique characters that I always end up loving. There was a lot of character development and seeing the sweet and heartfelt moments between Archer and Mac was everything. The beginning was full of delicious tension and tug-of-war between them, It was very well done and their chemistry was off the charts. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Archer, as he’s always been quite withdrawn from the family and somewhat of a loner, but he blew me away with his sweetness and his love for Mac. If someone had told me a year ago that one of my favorite shows was about a found family full of murderous psychopaths, I wouldn’t have believed them, but here we are… This is the sixth book in the Necessary Evils series.
